Lionel Messi Confirms India Trip: GOAT Tour to Visit Four Cities in December 2025

Football legend Lionel Messi has officially confirmed his return to India after 14 years, set to participate in the GOAT Tour of India 2025 this December. The tour will span four cities — Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi — headlining a series of events combining football, music, culture, and fan engagement.

Messi expressed his excitement, stating:
"It is such an honour for me to make this trip. India is a very special country, and I have good memories from my time there 14 years ago — the fans were fantastic. I look forward to meeting a new generation of fans while sharing the love I have for this beautiful game."

Tour Highlights

  • Kolkata (Dec 13): Messi will headline the GOAT Concert and GOAT Cup at Salt Lake Stadium, revisiting the venue where he played in 2011. Events include football masterclasses, meet-and-greets, and cultural celebrations. A 25-foot mural and his biggest-ever statue will also be unveiled during Durga Puja festivities.

  • Mumbai: Includes the “Padel GOAT Cup” with potential celebrity appearances by Shah Rukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Bollywood stars.

  • Ahmedabad & New Delhi: Grand events blending football, music, and fan experiences.

  • Prime Minister Meet: Messi will meet PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi on December 15.

Security arrangements will involve Messi’s personal team alongside local authorities for unprecedented safety measures.

???????? Bonus: Argentina Friendly in Kerala

The Argentina national football team is also scheduled to play a friendly in Kerala during the November FIFA international window (Nov 10–18). While Messi’s participation remains uncertain, the team’s inclusion highlights India’s growing stature in international football.

With a World Cup title and Olympic gold medal to his name, Messi’s India tour promises to be one of the biggest football-related events in the country, giving fans a rare opportunity to celebrate the GOAT in person.
