Pawan Kalyan Announces OG Prequel and Sequel Plans
Actor and politician Pawan Kalyan has officially announced plans for a prequel and sequel to his blockbuster film They Call Him OG. The announcement came at the film’s success meet, celebrating its record-breaking opening week.
The film crossed the Rs 160-crore mark domestically within the first seven days, prompting Kalyan and the filmmakers to expand the OG universe.
Speaking at the event, Kalyan revealed how he was initially unsure of the story but was inspired by its resonance with the younger generation. “When I saw my son reading the notes with joy, I realised the story’s relevance for this generation,” he said.
Kalyan expressed gratitude to fans for their overwhelming support and highlighted the renewed motivation he felt to continue filmmaking, despite his busy role as Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Directed by Sujeeth, They Call Him OG stars Pawan Kalyan as a former gangster returning to Mumbai to face new threats. The film also features Emraan Hashmi in his Telugu debut, alongside Priyanka Mohan, Sriya Reddy, Arjun Das, and Prakash Raj.
With the prequel and sequel plans underway, the OG franchise is set to expand, promising fans more action, drama, and high-octane storytelling from the world of They Call Him OG.
