Salman Khan Says He’s Not a Great Actor, Relies on Instinct Over Technique

Bollywood star Salman Khan offered a candid assessment of his acting style during an on-stage interaction at the Red Sea Film Festival 2025 in Saudi Arabia, saying he does not consider himself a great actor and relies largely on instinct rather than technique.

Speaking to the audience, Khan reflected on how he approaches performances, suggesting that acting today has changed significantly. He said he does not consciously “act” in scenes, instead responding naturally to what he feels in the moment. According to the actor, his performances are driven more by emotion and spontaneity than rehearsed craft.

Khan also shared a light-hearted observation about audience reactions to his emotional scenes, saying that when he cries on screen, he sometimes feels viewers laugh at him. His remark was met with immediate disagreement from the audience, with fans insisting that they empathise and often cry along with him.

The exchange drew applause, highlighting Khan’s long-standing connect with his fan base and his willingness to speak openly about his perceived limitations as a performer.

During the festival, Salman Khan also attended the Golden Globes gala dinner, where he interacted with several international film personalities, including Idris Elba, Edgar Ramirez, Olga Kurylenko and Emad Iskande, marking a rare moment of cross-industry engagement.

On the work front, Khan remains busy with multiple projects. He is currently involved in the filming of Battle of Galwan and Kick 2, and has recently wrapped up his hosting responsibilities for Bigg Boss 19.
