Sonam Wangchuk Responds to Salman Khan’s Viral “It’s Done Bro” Remark

Salman Khan told Sonam Wangchuk, “It’s done, bro.” Months later, Wangchuk has finally responded.

During the NEET-UG 2026 protests, Salman Khan had publicly urged protesting students to return home and asked Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike, saying, “Sonam, it’s done, bro.” The line quickly went viral and became a social-media meme.

Now, Wangchuk has reacted to the moment on YouTuber Prakhar Gupta’s podcast.

When Gupta offered him a T-shirt featuring Salman’s viral line, Wangchuk laughed and said he would keep it as a “healthy sentiment.”

Asked what he thought about Salman’s appeal, Wangchuk replied that everyone has their own majbooriyan—or compulsions—but said he respected the actor for speaking up.

The exchange dates back to July, when Wangchuk was on an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in solidarity with students protesting over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak.

Salman had also offered to send Wangchuk home-cooked food while urging him not to prolong the hunger strike.

The protest later ended after the then Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned and the government accepted several demands of the protesters.

So, months after “Sonam, it’s done, bro” became a meme, Wangchuk's response is essentially: “I respect what he said—but everyone has their own compulsions.”
