UP Board Goes Digital: Examiners to Upload Marks Online for 2026 Class 10 & 12 Exams

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is preparing for a major transition in the way Class 10 and Class 12 answer sheets are evaluated. Beginning with the 2026 High School and Intermediate examinations, marks will be uploaded directly to the UP Board’s online evaluation portal, replacing the long-standing system of manually filling paper award blanks.

Board officials explained that this shift aims to accelerate result preparation, reduce administrative delays, and ensure greater accuracy by eliminating errors associated with manual data entry. The initiative builds on a successful pilot run during the 2025 practical examinations, conducted under the supervision of Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh. Encouraged by its outcomes, the board has opted to expand the digital process to written examinations as well.

Online Marks Entry to Replace Manual Award Blanks

Until now, the board distributed nominal rolls and paper award blanks to examination centres. Examiners recorded marks manually, and the forms were later transported to regional offices for final compilation. This multi-step process often resulted in bottlenecks, misplaced paperwork, and delayed verification.

Starting 2026, examiners will log into the official UPMSP evaluation portal and enter marks directly. This will enable real-time data availability and remove the need for physical handling of documents. Officials noted that the system would enhance transparency by allowing secure digital tracking of every entry.

Training for Examiners and Full Paperless Goal by 2027

To ensure seamless integration of the new method, UPMSP will organise district-level training programmes for all examiners. The board plans to make the examination process fully paperless by 2027, including circulation of student data, question papers, evaluation records, and consolidation of results.

According to officials, the digital transition represents a significant advancement in modernising the state's educational framework. It aligns with ongoing efforts to introduce technology-driven reforms across schools and examination systems.

Over 52 Lakh Students Registered for 2026 Exams

The UP Board has already registered a total of 52,30,297 candidates for the 2026 board examinations. This includes:

• High School (Class 10): 27,50,945 students

• Intermediate (Class 12): 24,79,352 students

Given this scale, the board believes the online entry system will substantially speed up result compilation and minimise processing errors.

A Step Toward Greater Transparency and Efficiency

Officials emphasise that digital evaluation will bring uniformity and reliability to the marks submission process. With no dependency on the physical movement of documents, the system is expected to reduce discrepancies and ensure higher accuracy in the final results.

The initiative is seen as an important milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s broader goal of modernising educational administration and adopting digital solutions to support both students and evaluators.
