Viral Video Shows Minors Attacking Migrant Worker With Sickles in Tamil Nadu
A disturbing video showing four minors brutally attacking a migrant worker with sickles in Thiruvallur district has triggered widespread outrage and prompted a police investigation.
The incident involves a migrant worker from Madhya Pradesh, identified as Siraj, who was left critically injured after the assault. The attackers allegedly recorded the violence themselves, with the video also capturing one of the minors flashing a “victory” sign after the attack.
According to preliminary information, the victim was first targeted while travelling on a moving train. The minors allegedly threatened him with sickles and swords during the journey, filming the intimidation on a mobile phone. The situation escalated when the group later took Siraj to a secluded area near a railway station.
The video footage shows the migrant worker being repeatedly attacked with sickles, highlighting the severity of the assault. Siraj sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital, where his condition is reported to be critical.
Police have taken cognisance of the viral video and launched a probe into the incident. Authorities are examining the footage to establish the sequence of events and identify the individuals involved. Further action is expected as the investigation progresses.
The incident has sparked renewed concerns over the safety of migrant workers and the growing trend of violent acts being recorded and circulated on social media.
