Deepinder Goyal Wins EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025, To Represent India Globally

Deepinder Goyal, Founder of Eternal Ltd., has been honoured with the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025 Award at the 27th edition of the prestigious ceremony held in Mumbai. The recognition highlights his leadership in building consumer-tech businesses that have significantly influenced India’s consumption patterns and digital economy.

An 11-member independent jury selected Goyal for his emphasis on innovation, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. The panel also acknowledged the employment opportunities generated by his ventures, particularly for youth and gig workers, along with the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem his businesses have supported.

Goyal will now represent India at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award, scheduled to take place in Monte Carlo in June 2025.

The awards ceremony was attended by Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, who served as Chief Guest. He felicitated Deepinder Goyal along with other category winners and special award recipients.

Veteran banker Uday Kotak, Chairman of GIFT City, received the Special Jury Award in recognition of his contribution to India’s banking and financial services sector and his long-term impact on entrepreneurship.

Category Winners Across Sectors

The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025 awards were presented across eight categories:

  • Ajay Bhardwaj (Anthem Biosciences) – Life Sciences and Healthcare

  • Gopal Vittal (Bharti Airtel) – Entrepreneurial CEO

  • Jasbir Singh (Amber Enterprises) – Manufacturing

  • Karan Bhagat (360 One WAM) – Services

  • Pranav Goel and Uttam Digga (Porter) – Start-up

  • Sunil Vachani (Dixon Technologies) – Business Transformation

  • Vir S Advani (Blue Star) – Consumer Products and Retail

According to organisers, the 2025 winners collectively report revenues nearing ₹4 lakh crore and a combined market capitalisation exceeding ₹22 lakh crore. Together, their enterprises employ nearly 2.8 lakh people across India.

Speaking at the event, Piyush Goyal highlighted India’s economic momentum, citing strong GDP growth, moderating inflation, record foreign exchange reserves, and increased foreign direct investment.

EY hosts the Entrepreneur Of The Year programme in more than 60 countries, celebrating business leaders who drive growth, innovation, and economic impact.

The 2025 jury was chaired by Sajjan Jindal of JSW Group and included prominent industry leaders such as Dilip Shanghvi, Harsh Mariwala, Sanjeev Bikhchandani, and Suneeta Reddy.

Deepinder Goyal’s recognition marks another milestone in India’s growing startup and digital business ecosystem, underscoring the country’s expanding role in global entrepreneurship.
