Akhilesh Yadav Unveils AI Film Targeting Yogi Adityanath Ahead of UP Polls

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has unveiled a new AI-generated political film targeting Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, using the style of an 1980s Bollywood confrontation between an “angry young man” and a villainous character. The film was screened during a press conference and portrays Yadav as a representative of ordinary people confronting the UP chief minister.

In the AI-created sequence, Adityanath is depicted as “Ajay Seth”, a fictionalised version of his name, while Yadav challenges him over issues including women’s safety, corruption, education, infrastructure, inflation and farmers’ problems. The character representing the chief minister is also shown boasting about spending heavily on public relations.

The film contains several political allegations, including claims about communal division and the handling of donations linked to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. These are presented as dialogue and satire within the SP-produced film and are not established findings in the video itself.

The release comes ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, with political exchanges between the BJP and SP intensifying. The SP has also announced a statewide PDA Yatra beginning in October as part of its campaign outreach.

The latest film follows another AI-generated video released by Yadav earlier in September that depicted Adityanath in a satirical setting. The BJP criticised that earlier video, calling it an “anti-Sanatan” portrayal. Yadav has previously argued that AI should be used for social purposes while also saying his party would respond to political AI content produced by its opponents.
