The Delhi Police HQ protest took place on Ashoka Road as left-wing student organisations and women activists gathered to oppose recent police action and detentions. The demonstration followed the detention of All India Students' Association president Neha Bora and earlier police action against student leaders.

Participants from several organisations assembled outside the headquarters, raising concerns over alleged police brutality, voter rigging and the treatment of women demonstrators. Protesters demanded accountability from senior police officials and called attention to their grievances through slogans and placards.

Student and Women's Organisations Join Demonstration

The gathering included members of the All India Democratic Women's Association, Students' Federation of India, Krantikari Yuva Sangathan and other left-wing groups.

Demonstrators displayed placards criticising the police action and raised slogans against what they described as mistreatment of protesters. The detention of student leaders was a key concern behind the mobilisation.

The organisations used the demonstration to demand answers from authorities and highlight allegations concerning the handling of recent protests. The allegations raised by demonstrators remain their stated claims.

Security Tightened Amid Prohibitory Orders

The protest took place despite the imposition of Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) across New Delhi. The provision allows authorities to issue orders to prevent potential disturbances under specified circumstances.

Security was strengthened around Delhi Police headquarters, with personnel from the Delhi Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Rapid Action Force (RAF) deployed in a multi-tier arrangement.

The forces maintained a security perimeter around the headquarters as officials monitored the gathering amid the prohibitory orders.

Demonstration Remains Largely Peaceful

The protest remained largely non-violent, with participants continuing to raise slogans and display placards. Police personnel monitored the gathering as demonstrators voiced their objections to recent detentions and demanded accountability.

The demonstration highlights continuing tensions between protesting student and women's organisations and the police over the handling of public agitations. Further developments will depend on the response from authorities to the protesters' demands.
