Rahul Gandhi Sits on Dharna With Pellet Gun Victim, Demands FIR

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday accompanied Sahil Lochak, who claims to have suffered injuries after the alleged use of a pellet gun during protests on July 20, to Parliament police station in New Delhi to seek the registration of a separate FIR.

Rahul Gandhi also met senior Delhi Police officials, including New Delhi DCP Sachin Sharma and Joint Commissioner Nupur Prasad, and demanded action against those responsible for authorising the use of force against the protesters.

Police Say Multiple FIRs Already Registered

Senior Delhi Police officials informed Rahul Gandhi and the victim that multiple FIRs related to the July 20 protest incident had already been registered.

According to the police, the cases have been transferred to the Crime Branch and Special Cell for investigation. Officials also informed them that the matter is currently being addressed before the Supreme Court.

However, Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party were reportedly dissatisfied with the response and continued to demand a separate FIR concerning Sahil Lochak's alleged pellet gun injury.

Rahul Gandhi Sits on Dharna Outside Police Station

Following the meeting with police officials, Rahul Gandhi sat on a dharna outside the Parliament police station along with Sahil Lochak.

The Congress party is demanding clarity on who authorised the alleged use of pellet guns against student protesters during the July 20 demonstrations.

The incident has now become a political issue, with the Congress seeking answers from authorities and raising the matter both inside and outside Parliament.
