Operation Ashdar: Pakistani Jaish Terrorist Yasir Killed in J&K, M4 Rifle Recovered

Security forces have recovered the remains of a Pakistani terrorist identified as Yasir following Operation Ashdar in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district. A night-enabled M4 carbine was also recovered during the joint operation.

The recovery was carried out by the Special Operations Group of Doda, Rashtriya Rifles and the Central Reserve Police Force. Authorities had earlier identified Yasir as a Pakistani national associated with the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The latest development comes amid intensified intelligence-based surveillance and joint security operations across Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces are investigating the terrorist's activities and attempting to establish his local links.

An anti-terror operation is also underway in the upper Seoj Dhar area of Bhaderwah in Doda following suspected movement of terrorists.

Earlier on September 4, the Indian Army had neutralised another terrorist during Operation Ashdar in Budgam district. Troops recovered an AK rifle along with other war-like material during the subsequent search operation.

The Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF had jointly launched the operation in Ashdar Gali, Budgam, after receiving specific intelligence inputs. Security operations and searches in the area continue as authorities work to detect and disrupt terrorist activity.
