CBSE Board Exams 2027: Schools Asked to Verify Student Details Before LOC Submission

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed all affiliated schools to carefully verify student and subject information before submitting registration details and the List of Candidates (LOC) for the 2027 board examinations. The instruction comes after repeated data errors and delays in previous examination cycles created operational difficulties and caused problems for students.

In a circular issued on September 10, the board said registration for Classes 9 and 12 and LOC submission for Classes 10 and 12 would begin shortly. Schools have been asked to ensure that all information is entered accurately and submitted within the prescribed deadlines.

Schools must verify important personal details, including students' full names as recorded in admission registers, dates of birth, gender and category. The complete names of parents or guardians must also be checked carefully, including spellings.

Subject information is another key area highlighted by the board. Schools have been instructed to register students for subjects according to their approved scheme of studies. Candidate photographs and signatures must also be uploaded in the format specified by CBSE.

The board has warned that mistakes in the submitted information can create complications later in the examination process. Schools have therefore been advised to check all details thoroughly before completing their submissions.

CBSE said it has encountered several avoidable problems during recent board examination cycles because of incorrect information provided by schools. These included wrong subject codes or subjects, followed by requests for corrections after the information had already been submitted.

Errors in student and parent details have also been reported. The board further pointed to cases where schools failed to submit the LOC or did not complete the submission within the prescribed deadline.

According to CBSE, schools have been reminded repeatedly to provide accurate personal information and correctly record the subjects selected by students. Despite these instructions, mistakes have continued to occur.

The board said such errors and delayed submissions can interfere with examination schedules and make it more difficult to conduct the process efficiently. They can also create unnecessary difficulties for candidates.

CBSE has therefore asked schools to keep accurate student records and subject details ready before the LOC submission process begins. Schools are expected to cross-check the information carefully to reduce the possibility of corrections and related complications later.

The circular has also been shared with several school education organisations and institutions so that schools under their respective jurisdictions can be informed. These include Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Eklavya Model Residential Schools and Sainik Schools Society, among other education authorities.

CBSE has not announced the exact date on which registration and LOC submission will open in the latest circular. The board has only stated that both processes are expected to begin shortly.

For students appearing in the 2027 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, accurate information at the registration stage will be important because mistakes in names, dates of birth, parent details or subjects can lead to complications during subsequent stages of the examination process.
