IndiGo Files Response to DGCA Notice as Flight Crisis Deepens; CEO Summoned for Review

IndiGo has submitted its formal response to the DGCA's show-cause notice over the ongoing nationwide flight disruptions, meeting the regulator’s 6 PM deadline on Monday. According to sources, the contents of the airline’s submission remain “highly guarded” and are unlikely to be made public immediately.

The DGCA has called for a high-level review meeting with officials from the Civil Aviation Ministry later this evening to assess IndiGo’s explanation and decide on further action. The regulator has also summoned the airline’s senior leadership, including CEO Pieter Elbers, who has come under significant scrutiny for IndiGo’s handling of the crisis.

A four-member DGCA inquiry panel will question IndiGo’s top executives as the government pushes to determine accountability for the massive operational breakdown. The recent chaos—marked by mass cancellations, delays, and passenger distress across major airports—has been described as one of the most severe disruptions in IndiGo’s history.

The aviation watchdog’s ongoing investigation follows widespread public criticism, mounting losses for affected passengers, and repeated complaints about communication failures and operational lapses.
