Meta Oakley Vanguard AI Glasses Launch in India: Price, Features, Specs Explained

Meta Platforms has officially introduced the Oakley Vanguard AI smart glasses in India, expanding its wearable tech lineup for athletes and adventure enthusiasts. Developed in collaboration with Oakley, the new Vanguard glasses are priced at Rs 52,300, making them the most premium AI glasses currently offered by the company in the Indian market.

What are Oakley Meta Vanguard AI glasses?

The Vanguard is a performance-focused version of Meta’s AI-powered eyewear, designed for outdoor activities such as running, cycling, and adventure sports. Built with Prism lens technology, the glasses are engineered to reduce glare and maintain clarity even in harsh sunlight, wind, and water-heavy environments.

Camera and recording features

The smart glasses include a 12-megapixel point-of-view camera with a 122-degree field of view. Users can capture photos and record videos in up to 3K resolution, along with features like slow motion, hyperlapse, and stabilisation. The hands-free camera setup makes it easier to document activities without holding a phone.

Audio, AI and performance tracking

The Vanguard comes equipped with open-ear speakers that deliver loud audio while keeping users aware of their surroundings. A five-microphone system reduces wind noise and enhances call clarity. With built-in Meta AI, users can ask voice commands such as performance queries or real-time updates during workouts.

Fitness tracking is also integrated into the glasses, allowing users to monitor metrics like pace and heart rate through voice interaction.

Battery, charging and local features

According to Meta, the device offers up to nine hours of regular use and six hours of continuous audio playback. The charging case provides an additional 36 hours of battery life, while fast charging can reach 50 percent in around 20 minutes.

For Indian users, the glasses include support for Hindi voice commands and UPI Lite payments, adding more localised functionality to the wearable ecosystem.

Design and availability

The Oakley Meta Vanguard AI glasses are available in multiple colour options, including black and white frames paired with yellow-gold, dark, reddish-blue, or sapphire lenses. The glasses carry an IP67 rating, making them resistant to dust and water exposure.

With AI wearables gaining traction, Meta’s latest launch signals a growing push towards smart eyewear that combines communication, recording, and fitness tracking into a single device.
