Ajith Kumar Hints at Dream F1 Film Collaboration, Shares Passion for Racing
Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar, known as much for his love of racing as for his cinematic achievements, has hinted at the possibility of starring in a Formula One-themed film. In an exclusive interview with India Today, Ajith said he wouldn’t rule out a collaboration reminiscent of Joseph Kosinski’s Hollywood hit ‘F1’ starring Brad Pitt.
“If it happens organically, why not? Maybe we can have a Hollywood collaboration,” Ajith remarked, suggesting a unique blend of speed and cinema may one day hit the big screen.
Ajith, who has balanced a dual career as a film star and professional racer, spoke candidly about the thrill and risks of racing. “As a driver, you are not thinking about anything. You don’t realise how fast you’re going until you go off the circuit or face a bad crash. You’re pushing the limits of your car, testing your own limits, so accidents are bound to happen,” he explained.
The full interview is set to release on September 28.
Ajith also shared his hopes for the future of motorsport in India. “Mark my words, I hope it happens during my lifetime – but there will be a day when we will have an Indian driver who will go on to become a Formula One World Champion,” he said optimistically.
A motorsport enthusiast since the early 2000s, Ajith has competed in multiple national and international racing championships, sometimes pausing his film career to pursue his racing passion. On the cinematic front, he was last seen in Adhik Ravichandran’s ‘Good Bad Ugly’.
