With less than 24 hours remaining for the Women’s World Cup 2025 final, thousands of fans across India are still waiting for tickets to go on sale. The delay has triggered widespread anger, with supporters criticizing the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) for poor logistical management ahead of one of the biggest events in women’s cricket.
The final, set to take place on Sunday, November 2, will see India face South Africa in what promises to be a high-voltage clash. However, despite the anticipation surrounding the historic encounter, the official ticketing partner, BookMyShow, has yet to make tickets available online.
Social media platforms have been flooded with complaints from disappointed fans who described the situation as “embarrassing” and “unprofessional.” Many expressed frustration that a major international event of this scale could face such mismanagement so close to the match day.
One user wrote, “We supported the team throughout the World Cup, but now we can’t even buy a ticket for the final — this is unacceptable.” Others tagged BCCI and ICC in their posts, demanding immediate clarity about ticket availability and stadium entry details.
Ticket prices throughout the tournament started from ₹100, making matches accessible to a wide audience. However, the lack of communication and coordination has left supporters unsure if they’ll even get the chance to witness India’s potential historic win in person.
This isn’t the first time Indian cricket fans have encountered such chaos. During the Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, tickets for several key matches were released at the last minute, forcing fans to make rushed travel and accommodation plans. Many have drawn parallels between the two tournaments, questioning whether lessons were learned from past mistakes.
The frustration among fans is particularly significant given India’s remarkable performance in the semifinal. The Indian women’s team chased down a record 339-run target against defending champions Australia, securing their place in the final in stunning fashion.
Their opponents, South Africa, had defeated India earlier in the group stage in Vizag, setting up an exciting rematch. With India now carrying the momentum of their semifinal triumph, expectations for the final are at an all-time high.
As anticipation builds, the delay in ticket sales has reignited concerns about event management in Indian cricket. Experts have pointed out that such issues not only damage fan trust but also affect the image of the sport globally.
Cricket lovers are now hoping the authorities will resolve the confusion swiftly and ensure that the Women’s World Cup 2025 final becomes a celebration of the game — not a reminder of administrative inefficiency.
