PM Modi Says India Will Overcome LPG Crisis Like Covid Pandemic

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that India will successfully manage the current concerns surrounding the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, despite global disruptions linked to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Speaking at the NXT Summit, the Prime Minister said the country had faced difficult challenges before and would overcome the present situation just as it did during the **COVID-19 pandemic.

“I have full confidence in 140 crore Indians that just like Covid time, we will overcome this crisis too,” Modi said while addressing the gathering.

Government Working on Multiple Fronts

The Prime Minister emphasised that the government is actively working to ensure that disruptions in global energy markets do not negatively affect Indian citizens.

He said authorities are taking steps to maintain adequate fuel supply and strengthen monitoring systems so that cooking gas remains available across the country.

According to Modi, the government’s priority is to ensure that ordinary households do not face difficulties due to international conflicts affecting energy supply chains.

Warning Against Hoarding and Black-Marketing

Modi also cautioned against attempts to create panic about LPG availability.

He warned that strict action would be taken against individuals involved in hoarding or black-marketing cooking gas cylinders. Such practices, he said, could worsen the situation and create unnecessary anxiety among consumers.

The Prime Minister urged people to remain calm and rely on official information instead of rumours.

Call for State Governments to Strengthen Monitoring

During his address, Modi also called on state governments to enhance monitoring mechanisms to prevent misuse of LPG distribution systems.

He asked authorities to keep a close watch on supply chains to ensure that unscrupulous elements do not take advantage of the situation.

Stronger oversight, he said, would help maintain fair distribution and prevent artificial shortages.

Global Conflicts Affecting Energy Supply

The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid growing concerns about energy supply disruptions caused by tensions in West Asia.

Global conflicts can influence oil and gas supply routes, which in turn may affect domestic energy availability in countries that depend on imports.

India, one of the world’s largest energy consumers, has been working to diversify supply sources and maintain strategic reserves to manage such challenges.

Confidence in India’s Ability to Handle Crisis

Modi reiterated that India has demonstrated resilience during major global crises in the past.

By referring to the country’s response during the Covid pandemic, he expressed confidence that coordinated efforts by the government and citizens would help overcome the current LPG concerns as well.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely while implementing measures to maintain stable fuel availability for households and businesses across the country.
