Hanuman Ansh Box Office: Rs 10 Lakh Opening to Rs 47.33 Crore in 24 Days

Hanuman Ansh has emerged as one of the most surprising box-office success stories of 2026, going from a Rs 10 lakh opening day to Rs 47.33 crore India gross in 24 days.

Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the devotional drama initially struggled to attract audiences. After its first week, the film had earned just Rs 1.08 crore, while its first two weeks brought in only Rs 1.48 crore net.

Then, word of mouth changed everything.

FROM RS 10 LAKH TO RS 12.75 CRORE IN A DAY

The film began gaining momentum in its third week. After collecting Rs 15 lakh on Day 15, its earnings jumped to Rs 85 lakh on Day 16 and Rs 2.20 crore on Day 17.

The third week ended with Rs 10.40 crore in net collections.

Its fourth week has been even stronger. The film earned Rs 6.25 crore on Friday, Rs 9.25 crore on Saturday and a massive Rs 12.75 crore on Sunday.

Remarkably, the film earned more on that single Sunday than it did during its entire opening week.

A RS 2 CRORE FILM BECOMES A SLEEPER HIT

Hanuman Ansh was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore. Its India net collection has now reached Rs 40.13 crore, more than 20 times its reported production cost.

The film's growth has largely been attributed to positive word of mouth and grassroots promotion rather than a conventional big-budget marketing campaign.

The story of Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Maharaj-Ji among his followers, appears to have connected strongly with devotional audiences.

RS 50 CRORE WITHIN REACH

After 24 days, Hanuman Ansh has recorded:

  • Opening day: Rs 10 lakh

  • First week: Rs 1.08 crore net

  • First two weeks: Rs 1.48 crore net

  • Third week: Rs 10.40 crore net

  • Day 24: Rs 12.75 crore net

  • India net: Rs 40.13 crore

  • India gross: Rs 47.33 crore

With its India gross nearing Rs 50 crore, the film has transformed from an almost unnoticed release into a genuine sleeper hit.

Its extraordinary run shows that a weak opening does not always determine a film's fate. In the case of Hanuman Ansh, audiences discovered the film late—and word of mouth did the rest.
