Ajay Devgn Jokes Kajol Would Have Ruined Drishyam on The Great Indian Kapil Show 5

Ajay Devgn brought his signature deadpan humour to the opening episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 5, joking that the Drishyam franchise would never have existed if his wife, Kajol, had been cast in the first film.

The hilarious exchange began when host Kapil Sharma asked director Abhishek Pathak whether Kajol would have made the film's protagonist reveal everything immediately. Ajay responded that the first film would not have been made, leaving everyone amused.

Ajay appeared alongside his Drishyam: The Conclusion co-stars Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Jaideep Ahlawat, along with director Abhishek Pathak.

The episode also features Sunil Grover mimicking Ajay, while Jaideep joins Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda for their Sona and Mona act. Kapil adds to the humour by joking that despite knowing Ajay for 15 years, they have barely spoken.

Jaideep also revealed that his association with Ajay dates back to his debut film, Aakrosh.

The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 5 premieres on Netflix on September 26, 2026, at 8 pm, with new episodes streaming every Saturday. The upcoming season will feature several Bollywood celebrities, television personalities, comedians and cricket legends.
