Shriya Saran has recalled how the team of Drishyam 2 accommodated her schedule when she returned to work as a new mother. In an interview, the actor shared that her daughter was eight months old during the filming and that the production team made several adjustments to help her balance work and motherhood.
Saran said even her first reading for the film was scheduled around her daughter’s sleep time. During the shoot, the team also allowed her to leave earlier when possible, sometimes even before co-star Ajay Devgn.
The actor said she was grateful for the support she received from the team, describing them as understanding and considerate of her situation as a new mother.
Drishyam Team Adjusted Schedule for Shriya
Saran’s experience highlights the challenges actors can face when returning to demanding film schedules after becoming parents. She said the Drishyam 2 team remained mindful of her responsibilities throughout the production.
Her experience comes amid a broader discussion in the Hindi film industry about making shooting environments more accommodating for working mothers. Actors including Deepika Padukone, Kajal Aggarwal and Parineeti Chopra have spoken publicly about balancing motherhood with professional commitments.
Discussions around long shooting hours and the need for greater flexibility have also gained attention, particularly in relation to new mothers.
For Saran, relatively simple scheduling changes made a meaningful difference. She said she has become more conscious about the amount of time she spends away from her daughter and the projects she chooses.
Shriya Wants Daughter to Be Proud of Her Work
Saran said motherhood has influenced the way she approaches her career. She wants to work on films that she believes her daughter will eventually appreciate and feel proud of.
Her daughter has already shown an interest in some of her work, including songs featuring the actor. Saran described her daughter’s appreciation as one of the most rewarding experiences she has had as a mother.
Meanwhile, Saran is currently part of Drishyam 3: The Conclusion, the latest instalment in the franchise, alongside Ajay Devgn. The film released on October 2 and, according to the figures cited in the report, collected more than Rs 303 crore worldwide in its first four days.
