Shehzad Poonawalla Rise and Fall Season 2 victory has brought renewed attention to his relationships with fellow contestants, particularly Tej Pratap Yadav. Following his win, Shehzad described Tej Pratap as the “clown of Indian politics” and said the two were unlikely to remain in regular contact outside the reality show.
However, the political commentator added that he would be willing to offer advice if Tej Pratap approached him for help.
Shehzad won the Virender Sehwag-hosted reality show after six weeks of arguments, alliances and strategic challenges. He finished ahead of first runner-up Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, while Gautam Gulati secured third place, followed by Swara Bhasker and Karan Patel.
Tej Pratap's Exit Affected the Game
Speaking about his equation with Tej Pratap, Shehzad said contestants from different backgrounds had formed a working alliance to protect their position in the Penthouse.
He described Tej Pratap's departure as a setback for the group, explaining that the alliance had gradually expanded from three members to four and eventually five.
Shehzad also suggested that Tej Pratap's sudden departure affected his decision-making during a crucial stage involving Gautam Gulati.
Asked whether their friendship would continue, Shehzad said they did not interact regularly even during their lives outside the show. He also criticised Tej Pratap's political relevance and suggested that keeping some distance might be better.
Nevertheless, he said he would consider offering advice if Tej Pratap requested it, adding that he believed defeats should be handled with grace.
Shehzad Discusses His Friendship With Swara Bhasker
Shehzad also spoke about his unexpected friendship with Swara Bhasker. The two entered the show with differing ideological positions but eventually found common ground while trying to protect their shared interests in the Penthouse.
He compared their temporary understanding to situations in Parliament where the government and Opposition sometimes work together on matters of national interest.
However, their relationship later experienced further disagreements, adding another dimension to the show's alliances and rivalries.
No Reconciliation Planned With Siwet Tomar
Another major controversy involved Siwet Tomar, whose argument with Shehzad escalated into a physical altercation. Siwet grabbed Shehzad by the neck and tore his kurta, resulting in his eviction for violating the show's rules against physical violence.
Shehzad said he had requested the makers not to remove Siwet but acknowledged that the incident went against the programme's rules. He also said he did not consider reconciliation important and criticised Siwet's approach to disagreements.
An Underdog Victory and Plans to Return to Politics
Reflecting on his victory over contestants with established television and reality-show careers, Shehzad described himself as an outsider competing against experienced industry personalities.
He credited viewers, his mother's blessings and divine guidance for his success. He also admitted that there were moments when frustration made him consider leaving the competition.
Shehzad said patience, persistence and the ability to remain calm during difficult phases helped him reach the finale.
Looking ahead, he plans to return to media appearances and political debates. He also announced that he would donate his ₹35 lakh prize money to the Chief Minister's fund for flood-affected states.
The finale is available to stream on Prime Video.
