Bengaluru Road Rage Turns Fatal After Man Clings to Moving Car Door

A late-night argument between two friends in Bengaluru ended in tragedy after one of them died while clinging to the door of a moving car during an escalating dispute. The incident has once again highlighted the lethal consequences of alcohol-fuelled confrontations and reckless driving on city roads.

The fatal episode occurred on Sunday night following a local cricket tournament in the city. According to police officials, the victim, a 28-year-old man, had been part of a cricket team that lost a local match earlier in the day. What began as frustration over the defeat soon spiralled into a heated argument between him and a close friend.

Authorities said the disagreement did not end at the tournament venue. Instead, it continued later in the night as the two consumed alcohol together. Witness accounts and preliminary investigation suggest that the argument intensified after drinking, creating a volatile situation.

The turning point came when the friend, who was driving the car, attempted to leave the spot amid the argument. In an apparent effort to stop him, the victim reportedly held onto the left-side door of the vehicle as it began to move. Despite the dangerous position, the car continued forward.

Within moments, the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree. Police suspect rash and negligent driving contributed to the loss of control. The impact proved catastrophic for the man clinging to the car, who sustained critical injuries due to the collision.

Emergency services were alerted immediately, and the injured man was rushed towards a hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries before receiving medical treatment. The driver also sustained serious injuries in the crash and is currently undergoing treatment at a private medical facility.

Following a complaint filed by the victim’s family, police registered a case of murder against the driver, citing reckless conduct that led to the fatality. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas, vehicle damage patterns, and medical reports to establish the precise sequence of events.
