Border 2 Teaser Earns Praise for Varun Dhawan From War Hero’s Family

The teaser of Border 2 has received an emotional and affirmative response from the family of Param Vir Chakra awardee Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, with praise directed at Varun Dhawan for portraying the late war hero.

Following the teaser’s release on November 16, 2025, Colonel Dahiya’s son, Colonel Sushil Kumar Dahiya, shared his family’s reaction, stating that Varun Dhawan has done justice to the role. He described the teaser as promising and said it was deeply meaningful for the family to see their legacy represented with sincerity and spirit on screen.

Calling the experience special, Colonel Sushil Singh Dahiya said the family is excited to watch the film and extended best wishes to Varun Dhawan and the entire team behind Border 2.

Colonel Dahiya’s granddaughter, Anushka Dahiya, also expressed her pride and excitement. Sharing Varun Dhawan’s picture from the teaser on social media, she said the dedication, sincerity and passion behind the performance were clearly reflected, adding that the family is proud of how the story is shaping up.

About Border 2

Set against the backdrop of the 1971 India–Pakistan war, Border 2 draws inspiration from real-life events and honours the bravery of Indian soldiers. Varun Dhawan steps into the role of Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, whose courage during the war earned him the nation’s highest gallantry award.

The film features an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Ahan Shetty, Diljit Dosanjh, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana and Anya Singh in pivotal roles.

Speaking at the teaser launch, Ahan Shetty said he was advised to stay honest in his performance and not compare the sequel to the original Border. He described working alongside Varun Dhawan and Sunny Deol as a valuable learning experience, especially after a long gap since his last film.

Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by T-Series and JP Films, Border 2 is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 23, 2026.
