Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor Pledge to Renovate 20 Schools for Seva Sankalp

Actor Alia Bhatt wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday and announced that she and her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, would support the Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan by pledging to refurbish 20 schools. The initiative is part of activities linked to the campaign marking Modi’s 25 years in public service.

In her birthday message, Alia said the couple would help renovate the schools in line with recommendations from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). She described the initiative as an effort to create better-equipped learning spaces for children.

The announcement came as several film personalities shared birthday messages for Modi. Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan also posted greetings for the Prime Minister on social media.

The Seva Sankalp campaign has included multiple public-service activities around the Prime Minister’s birthday. Government departments have organised programmes involving schoolchildren, environmental awareness, rehabilitation and other community initiatives.

Modi’s birthday fell on September 17. The 2026 celebrations also mark 25 years since he first took charge as a head of government in Gujarat in October 2001.
