Nani Comments on CM Vijay’s Political Journey and Assembly Role

Actor Nani spoke about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor-turned-politician Vijay during a Chennai press event for his upcoming film The Paradise. Nani said Vijay’s connection with people in the state extends beyond his film stardom and box-office career, attributing it to the trust he believes has developed over the years.

Nani also commented on Vijay’s work in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, saying his observation was based on what he had seen online. He expressed hope that Vijay’s tenure in government would meet the expectations of the people who voted for him.

Vijay entered electoral politics through the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which contested the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election. He subsequently became Chief Minister after the election and was sworn in on May 10, 2026.

Nani had earlier congratulated Vijay after the election results in May, referring to his victory as an example of an underdog succeeding in politics and expressing hope that the new government would deliver for Tamil Nadu.

The comments came as Nani promoted The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela. The actor plays Jadal in the film, with Raghav Juyal also part of the cast. The Paradise is scheduled for theatrical release on September 24.
