India’s men’s and women’s kabaddi teams have reached the Asian Games finals after dominant semifinal victories, keeping their bids to defend both titles on track. Both teams remain unbeaten in the tournament and are now one win away from gold.
The women’s team defeated Nepal 48-24 at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium. India led 31-17 at half-time and maintained control after the break, producing three All-Outs during the match. Sanju Devi was among India’s key attacking performers as the defending champions secured their place in the final.
The men’s team delivered an even bigger win, defeating Thailand 66-28. India took a 37-18 lead into half-time after strong performances from Devank Dalal and Arjun Deshwal. Devank continued to make an impact after the break, while Ayan Lohchab and Aslam Inamdar also contributed as India extended their advantage.
India’s men recorded 43 out points, 15 bonus points and eight All-Out points in the semifinal. Thailand managed 20 outs, five bonus points, two All-Out points and one technical point.
Both Indian teams will face the winners of the respective Iran vs Chinese Taipei semifinals in the gold-medal matches. The men’s final is scheduled for Saturday at 2:30 pm, while the women’s team will also compete for the Asian Games title.
