CTET 2026 Postponed, CBSE Reopens Application Window Till September 1

The Central Board of Secondary Education has postponed the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test, CTET 2026, and reopened the application window for eligible candidates who were unable to apply during the earlier registration period.

According to the latest notice, the CTET 2026 application window is open from August 25 to September 1, 2026. Candidates who have already successfully submitted their applications do not need to register or apply again.

The decision to reopen the application process follows a recent Supreme Court judgment that highlighted the need to provide eligible teachers with a reasonable opportunity to fulfil the statutory requirement of obtaining the prescribed Teacher Eligibility Test qualification.

Eligible candidates who missed the previous CTET 2026 registration deadline can now submit their applications during the extended window. The application process for the 22nd edition of CTET was previously conducted from May 11 to June 10, 2026.

CBSE has also postponed the CTET 2026 examination. The revised examination date is expected to be announced separately.

Candidates applying for CTET 2026 can visit the official CTET website and use the Apply/Login section for the September 2026 examination. Applicants will need to complete the registration and application process within the extended deadline of September 1, 2026.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official CTET website for updates regarding the revised CTET 2026 exam date, application process and other important announcements.
