Himanshi Khurana Responds to Asim Riaz Over Conversion Remark, Alleges Violence

Actor Himanshi Khurana has responded to recent remarks made by her former partner Asim Riaz, addressing the controversy surrounding religion, conversion and their past relationship in a detailed statement on X.

Himanshi clarified that she had never claimed that she was subjected to a “forceful conversion”, stating that the narrative had been created by others. She said she had largely chosen to remain silent about her personal life but decided to respond after her experiences and personal struggles were questioned publicly.

She also alleged that she had faced violence and disrespect during the course of the relationship and said she was prepared to present evidence to support her claims if the matter continued to be discussed publicly. Himanshi referred to CCTV footage and recordings while stating that she was ready to share facts related to the controversy and her experiences.

The actor further said she did not want to continue remaining silent in order to protect someone else's public image while facing repeated criticism and disrespect herself. She questioned why she should not be allowed to speak about her own experiences and the lessons she had learned from them.

The latest exchange came after Asim Riaz responded to the ongoing discussion surrounding claims that Himanshi had considered changing her religion during their relationship. He denied ever asking anyone to change their religion and said that religion should not be used as part of a personal dispute.

Asim also criticised allegations made against him and maintained that he had built his career independently. He said that financial records could address any questions related to claims about wealth or professional success.

The controversy began after Himanshi discussed her past relationship during an appearance on Paras Chhabra's podcast. She was asked about reports suggesting that she had considered converting to another religion while she was in a relationship with Asim.

Responding to the discussion, Himanshi had clarified that she did not describe the situation as a conversion. She said that Asim had spoken to her about his religion and explained aspects of it, which she did not consider to be the same as being forced to convert.

Himanshi Khurana and Asim Riaz announced their separation in December 2023 after being together for nearly four years. At the time, they cited differences in their religious beliefs as a reason behind their decision to part ways.
