Isha Koppikar's 'Proud Andhbhakt' Remark Gets Support From Kangana Ranaut

Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has supported actor Isha Koppikar after she described herself as a proud ‘andhbhakt’ in a social media video. Isha clarified that her use of the term was not linked to support for any political party or leader, but reflected her devotion to India and its progress.

Kangana shared Isha's video on her Instagram Stories and said she could relate to the actor's views. She also referred to several instances from her own life in which she said she had spoken out against issues she disagreed with.

Kangana recalled protesting against a teacher who hit children with a stick during a school assembly. She also mentioned her response to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and the Nirbhaya case.

The actor-turned-politician further said she had never blamed her parents for limitations she may have experienced. Instead, she said she focused on improving the lives of her family.

Kangana concluded her post by saying that she identifies as a ‘bhakt’ of almost everyone she meets, while emphasising her love for her country, its people and her life.

What did Isha Koppikar say about being an 'andhbhakt'?

In her video, Isha explained why she was comfortable describing herself as an ‘andhbhakt’, a term commonly used for someone perceived as a blind supporter of a political party or leader.

Isha said that if loving the country and wanting to see it progress could be described as ‘bhakti’, she was proud to identify herself as a ‘bhakt’ and ‘andhbhakt’.

However, she made it clear that her loyalty was not directed towards any political party. She said her devotion was towards the country and that she believed in putting the nation first.

Isha also said that loving the country does not mean that a person cannot question the government or disagree with its policies. She stressed that people can criticise government decisions while still having strong feelings of patriotism.

The actor said India is her home and the place where she has earned her livelihood and received opportunities. She added that she was not ashamed of being proud of her country.

Isha further said people should respect the place they consider home and contribute towards making it better.

Kangana Ranaut's earlier remarks on Gen Z protests

Kangana has previously faced criticism over her comments about Gen Z protesters at Jantar Mantar. She had described some protesters as “Generational Gutter”, triggering criticism from several quarters.

The actor-turned-politician later clarified that her comments were not directed at all young people or everyone who participated in the protests.

Speaking to ANI, Kangana said her remarks were aimed at specific individuals and some women whose behaviour she had criticised. She also claimed that she was responding to protesters who had used the word “cockroaches” for themselves rather than making a statement about the entire Gen Z population.
