Kamal Haasan Thanks Linkin Park for Taking Khadi Brand Global

Actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan has expressed gratitude to American rock band Linkin Park after the group was seen wearing his Khaddar/Khadi clothing brand during their recent visit to India.

Haasan took to Instagram to acknowledge the band’s public endorsement of his label, sharing a photograph of Linkin Park members from their India concert. In his post, the actor highlighted the cultural significance of the gesture and its global impact.

“Linking Khadi to the western world. Thank you. KHHK (sic),” Haasan wrote alongside the image.

The post quickly drew attention from fans and followers, many of whom praised the crossover moment between Indian handloom tradition and global music icons. KHHK refers to Kamal Haasan’s House of Khaddar, the actor’s fashion label aimed at reviving and popularising Khadi as a contemporary, sustainable fabric with global appeal.

Linkin Park enjoys a massive fan following in India, with tracks such as Numb, In the End, What I’ve Done, and Somewhere I Belong remaining staples among rock music listeners. The band’s recent appearance at Lollapalooza India further strengthened its connection with Indian audiences.

By choosing to wear Haasan’s Khadi label during their India visit, the band inadvertently brought international visibility to the indigenous textile, aligning with Haasan’s long-standing advocacy for sustainable and culturally rooted fashion.

On the professional front, Kamal Haasan remains actively involved in multiple film projects. He is currently producing a film starring Rajinikanth under his Raaj Kamal Films International banner. In addition, he is backing an action-thriller helmed by debut director duo Anbariv.

The veteran actor is also expected to return to his iconic Indian franchise with a third instalment, to be directed by Shankar, though official announcements on the project are still awaited.
