A Narendra Modi lookalike brought political satire and playful banter to India’s Got Latent as contestant Raahil appeared as “Odi Ji” and took aim at comedian Kunal Kamra. The latest episode of Samay Raina’s show featured an unexpected twist when the host video-called Kamra, turning the comedian into part of the act.
Raahil began his performance with a joke about the falling rupee, saying, “The rupee has fallen. But do not worry, brothers. If the rupee has fallen, I am also the one who will pick it up.”
The exchange became more entertaining when Kamra appeared on screen and responded, “None of this is going to happen. Do not be under any illusion.”
Raahil quickly countered with a question that appeared to target Kamra’s comedy: “Did you pick up that joke from WhatsApp?” The remark added another layer to the playful roast.
Raahil and Kunal Kamra’s On-Screen Banter
The back-and-forth continued as Kamra addressed Raahil in character and asked what he did for a living, suggesting comedy. When Kamra attempted to interrupt with “Sir, listen to me now,” Raahil seized the opportunity to tease him.
“How did you suddenly come around to calling me sir?” the contestant asked, drawing attention to the sudden shift in how Kamra addressed him.
The exchange made Kamra an active participant in the performance rather than simply an audience member watching the impersonation. Raahil’s political humour and quick responses became the highlight of the segment.
Contestant Scores a Perfect 10
Raahil’s performance also delivered a winning result. The contestant received a perfect 10 from the panel, matching the score he had predicted on his cue card before taking the stage.
On India’s Got Latent, contestants predict the average rating they expect to receive from the panel, making an accurate prediction part of the competition.
The episode adds to the show’s return following the controversy surrounding earlier episodes, which were taken down from YouTube after Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks about sex and parents triggered widespread criticism.
Hosted by Samay Raina, India’s Got Latent returned for a second season earlier this year and is available on Netflix as well as YouTube.
Raahil’s “Odi Ji” act has added another talking point for viewers, combining political impersonation, topical humour and an unexpected interaction with Kamra. The contestant’s perfect score made the performance even more memorable.
