Manipur Woman Arrested for Stabbing South Korean Live-in Partner to Death in Greater Noida

A late-night dispute inside a residential apartment in Greater Noida turned fatal after a South Korean national was allegedly stabbed to death by his live-in partner from Manipur. Police have arrested the woman and launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and motive behind the killing.

The incident came to light when GIMS Hospital alerted the local police that a foreign national had been brought in with critical stab injuries. Doctors declared the man dead on arrival, prompting hospital authorities to inform the police early Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Duck Jee Yuh, a citizen of South Korea who was working as a branch manager with a mobile phone company in India. According to police, the woman who rushed him to the hospital was his live-in partner, Lunjeana Pamai, a resident of Manipur.

Following sustained questioning, Pamai allegedly confessed to stabbing Yuh during a heated altercation. Investigators said the couple had been living together in a live-in relationship for nearly two years at a housing society in Greater Noida.

Preliminary findings suggest that the incident occurred after the couple consumed alcohol late into the night. An argument reportedly broke out over an undisclosed issue, escalating from a verbal dispute into a physical confrontation. During the scuffle, the woman allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed Yuh in the chest.

Police officials said the injury was deep and caused excessive bleeding. Realising the seriousness of the situation, Pamai reportedly rushed him to GIMS Hospital. Despite medical efforts, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

A formal case has been registered at the Knowledge Park Police Station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The accused woman has been taken into custody and remains under interrogation as investigators attempt to reconstruct the events leading up to the killing.

During questioning, Pamai reportedly told police that she did not intend to kill her partner and claimed the stabbing occurred in the heat of the moment during the altercation. Officers said her statement is being verified against forensic evidence, witness accounts and other material collected from the scene.

Police sources also indicated that the relationship between the couple was allegedly strained. According to preliminary inquiries, the deceased was known to consume alcohol frequently, and there were repeated arguments between the two. Investigators are examining claims that the woman may have faced abuse, though officials stressed that these assertions are still under verification and form part of the ongoing probe.

Forensic teams have inspected the apartment where the incident took place, and the weapon believed to have been used in the crime has been seized. Statements from neighbours and acquaintances are also being recorded to establish the couple’s behavioural history and any prior disputes.

Authorities said further legal action will depend on the outcome of the investigation, including forensic reports and post-mortem findings. The South Korean Embassy has been informed about the death of its citizen, police added.

As the investigation continues, officials have emphasised that all aspects of the case, including intent, provocation and past conduct, will be examined before filing the final chargesheet.
