Property Feud Turns Deadly in UP: Man Kills Father, Sister and Niece in Triple Murder Case

A long-running family dispute over property escalated into a shocking triple murder in Uttar Pradesh, exposing the devastating consequences of unresolved inheritance conflicts. Police have arrested Mukesh Patel, who allegedly killed his father, sister and teenage niece before dumping their bodies into a well in an attempt to destroy evidence.

The crime came to light after three members of a family went missing late Friday night, triggering alarm in the local community. The missing individuals were later identified as Ram Singh, aged 55, his 21-year-old daughter Sadhna Devi, and his 14-year-old granddaughter. When repeated search efforts over two days failed to trace them, police began suspecting foul play rather than a routine disappearance.

Investigators focused their attention on Mukesh Patel, the eldest son in the family, after inconsistencies emerged during questioning. According to police officials, sustained interrogation led to a confession in which Mukesh admitted to murdering all three relatives and disposing of their bodies in a nearby well. Acting on his disclosure, police recovered the bodies, confirming the scale and brutality of the crime.

The investigation revealed that the killings were rooted in a bitter property dispute that had been simmering for months. Police said Mukesh was enraged after his father transferred family property to his younger son, Mukund. This decision reportedly deepened resentment within the family and eventually triggered a violent outburst.

In a disturbing sequence of events, Mukesh allegedly shot his younger brother Mukund, leaving him seriously injured. Mukund survived the attack and later approached the police to report his father, sister and daughter missing, unaware at the time that they had already been killed. Authorities believe the accused first targeted his younger brother before abducting the remaining family members.

Police said Mukesh then murdered his father, sister and niece and attempted to conceal the crime by throwing their bodies into a well. The attempt to erase evidence delayed discovery, but growing suspicion and sustained investigation eventually uncovered the truth.

Law enforcement officials described the case as a grim reminder of how family conflicts over property can spiral into extreme violence if left unresolved. “This was not an impulsive act but the result of prolonged anger and resentment,” a senior police officer said, adding that forensic evidence and witness statements are being collected to strengthen the case.

A murder case has been registered against Mukesh Patel, and further legal proceedings are underway. The injured younger brother remains under medical care, while police continue to reconstruct the exact timeline of events and examine whether any additional factors contributed to the crime.

The incident has sent shockwaves across the region, sparking renewed discussion on the need for timely dispute resolution within families and greater awareness of the warning signs of escalating domestic conflict. As the investigation continues, authorities say the focus remains on ensuring justice for the victims and preventing similar tragedies in the future.
