Mossad Says It Dismantled Hamas Terror Network Across Europe, Links Qatar Leadership

Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad has claimed that it has dismantled an extensive Hamas-linked terror network allegedly operating across several European countries. The operation, carried out with the support of multiple European security agencies, reportedly uncovered weapons caches and disrupted plots to target Israeli and Jewish civilians on European soil.

According to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, coordinated security actions in Germany, Austria and other European nations resulted in the arrest of several operatives and the seizure of weapons believed to be intended for “on-command” attacks.

A key breakthrough came in Vienna last September when Austrian authorities uncovered a concealed weapons cache containing handguns and explosive devices. Investigators later linked the cache to Muhammad Na’im — the son of Basem Na’im, a senior Hamas Political Bureau member and close associate of Gaza-based leader Khalil al-Hayya.

Mossad alleges that Muhammad Na’im played a central role in establishing operational infrastructure across Europe, acting in coordination with his father. The agency further stated that the pair allegedly met in Qatar before the weapons were discovered, suggesting direct involvement of Hamas’s senior leadership in facilitating overseas attacks.

The intelligence service also said it is investigating whether Hamas operatives based in Turkey assisted in the planning and logistics of these activities, adding that the group’s leadership in Qatar may have granted approval for the European network.

Mossad claimed the findings reveal a renewed push by Hamas, particularly after the October 7 attacks, to expand its global terror footprint and recruit cells across Europe—similar to strategies employed by Iran and its regional proxies.

The multinational probe remains ongoing as investigators assess potential links to operatives in additional countries.
