Shakira Brings Sons to Zootopia 2 Premiere, Reveals Their Cute Cameo as Bunnies

Shakira lit up the Los Angeles premiere of Zootopia 2 as she arrived with her sons, Milan and Sasha—who not only accompanied her on the red carpet but also have adorable cameo roles in the film. The trio appeared in coordinated purple outfits, quickly becoming the centre of attention at the star-studded event.

Returning as the voice of Gazelle, Shakira revealed that this sequel was particularly meaningful because her children were closely involved throughout its development. “When I did Zootopia 1, they were just babies,” she said at the premiere. “But for Zootopia 2, they’ve watched the whole creative process with me. They saw me writing parts of the song ‘Zoo’ and watched Gazelle evolve.”

She also shared that Milan and Sasha contributed creatively behind the scenes and even lent their voices for small cameo roles as “Bunnies” in the movie. “They have strong opinions—just like their mother,” she laughed, adding that she was thrilled to bring them to the premiere to celebrate their involvement.

Shakira recently released the music video for Zoo, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, which blends Gazelle-inspired imagery with scenes from the movie. The video features key locations from the film, including the Zootenial Gala, the Zootopia Express, and a dramatic cliffside setting, along with appearances by beloved characters Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, Gary De’Snake, and Nibbles Maplestick.

The film’s score, composed by Oscar-winner Michael Giacchino, will be available as part of the full soundtrack from November 21.

Zootopia 2 follows Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they chase a new mystery that begins when Gary De’Snake shakes up the city. Their investigation takes them through surprising parts of Zootopia and puts their partnership to the test as they attempt to restore order.

The voice ensemble includes Shakira, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, Andy Samberg, Patrick Warburton, Quinta Brunson, and Nate Torrence. Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard and produced by Yvett Merino, the film releases in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on November 28 in India.
