Smriti Mandhana Says Yes as Palash Muchhal Proposes at DY Patil
Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana experienced an unforgettable moment at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium when her fiancé, singer–composer Palash Muchhal, surprised her with a heartfelt proposal on the very pitch where India lifted the Women’s World Cup trophy earlier this month.
In a video shared by Palash on Instagram, the singer is seen guiding Smriti—blindfolded—to the centre of the field. As she removes the blindfold, she finds him on one knee holding out a ring. Smriti, visibly emotional, smiles and accepts the proposal as Palash captioned the video with, “She said yes.”
The couple’s close friends immediately rush onto the pitch, cheering and celebrating the intimate moment against the backdrop of a stadium filled with memories of India’s historic World Cup triumph.
Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal, who have been together for several years, are set to get married on Sunday, 23 November.
Ahead of their wedding, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a personalised congratulatory letter to the couple, conveying warm wishes for their new beginning.
