Splitsvilla X6: New Format, Venue, Hosts, Rumoured Contestants and Everything You Need to Know

MTV is set to bring back its popular youth dating reality show with MTV Splitsvilla X6, promising a fresh format, heightened drama and strategic gameplay. Titled Splitsvilla X6: Pyaar ya Paisa, the new season will premiere on January 9 and will introduce a significant shift in how contestants navigate relationships and competition.

This season will feature 32 single contestants who will be divided into two separate zones — the Pyaar Villa and the Paisa Villa. The central theme revolves around a crucial choice: pursuing genuine emotional connections or prioritising financial rewards. Contestants will be required to constantly reassess their strategies as alliances, bonds and loyalties are tested throughout the game.

Actor Sunny Leone returns as host, marking her tenth year with the franchise. She will be joined by Karan Kundrra, who makes his return to MTV after six years. Adding to the unpredictability this season are Nia Sharma and Uorfi Javed, who step in as the show’s mischief-makers. Their role will involve introducing surprise twists and challenges that could dramatically alter the course of the game.

The show has been filmed in Mahabalipuram, a scenic coastal town in Tamil Nadu. The picturesque setting is expected to add visual appeal while contrasting with the emotional and strategic chaos unfolding inside the villas.

Speaking about the new season, Sunny Leone described Splitsvilla as a project close to her heart, noting that the evolving dynamics of love and relationships reflect changing generations. She said the “Pyaar ya Paisa” twist raises the stakes significantly, with emotions and bonds likely to be tested like never before.

Karan Kundrra, expressing his excitement about returning to the channel, said hosting alongside Sunny Leone was special and highlighted how the addition of money into the equation would challenge contestants’ understanding of love and loyalty. With the show airing three times a week, he hinted at sustained drama and fast-paced developments.

While the official list of contestants has not yet been confirmed, several names are doing the rounds on social media and fan forums. Rumoured participants include Yogesh Rawat, Akansha, Tanye de Villiers, Himanshu Arora, Ashmita Adhikari, Mohit Magotra, Ayush Sharma, Kaira Anu, Vishu Bajaj, Gauresh Gujral, Anuj Sharma, Piyush Sharma, Aarav Chugh, Simran Khan, Anjali Schmuck, Deeptanshu Saini, Anushka Gosh, Suzzane and Keona Rajani. Online speculation has already begun around early pairings, with unverified claims hinting at initial “ideal matches”.

Splitsvilla X6 will air every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7 pm on MTV India and will also be available for streaming on JioHotstar. With a revamped format, a larger contestant pool and the added tension of money versus love, the new season aims to redefine the dynamics of one of India’s longest-running dating reality shows.
