Bigg Boss 19 winner Gaurav Khanna has addressed allegations labelling him a “fake” or “fixed winner,” asserting that he won the reality show by staying true to himself and not through strategy or external influence. Speaking exclusively to India Today after lifting the trophy, the television actor dismissed criticism circulating online and said he remained unaffected by social media narratives.
Khanna shared that he refuses to cater to unfounded accusations. “Today, everyone is a keyboard warrior. If some people don’t like me, that’s fine. I don’t need universal approval. I’m happy that most people supported me,” he said.
The actor emphasised that authenticity—not theatrics—defined his journey. Responding to claims that he was “fake,” Khanna explained that he avoided staged behaviour inside the Bigg Boss house. “If I were fake, I’d wake up dressed in designer outfits or follow a scripted plan. I didn’t do any of that. I worked out in slippers, ate rice with my hands, kneaded dough—this is genuinely who I am.”
Khanna also refuted allegations of paying for votes, saying he lived in the house exactly as he lives in real life. “I don’t have that kind of money. If a mother, a child, or an elderly person liked me, it’s because I connected with their hearts,” he added.
Reflecting on his gameplay, Khanna said Bigg Boss is a marathon, not a sprint. He approached every day with consistent effort rather than dramatic outbursts, adding that “slow and steady wins the race.”
He acknowledged that people have doubted him throughout his career—from his move to Mumbai to his entry into television and reality shows—but perseverance has always carried him forward. “I’m used to people questioning me. I faced it in acting, on reality shows, and now here too. But I kept going, and I will continue to,” he said.
Khanna’s victory came as Farrhana Bhatt and Pranit More secured the second and third positions, followed by Tanya Mittal and Amaal Mallik.
