Trump Targets ‘Radical Left’ in Christmas Message, Highlights Economy and Security

US President Donald Trump struck a combative tone in his Christmas message on social media, using the holiday greeting to attack political opponents while highlighting what he described as major gains in the economy, crime reduction and national security under his leadership.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump extended Christmas wishes while sharply criticising the “radical left,” accusing them of attempting to undermine the country but failing in their efforts.

“Merry Christmas to all, including the Radical Left Scum that is doing everything possible to destroy our Country, but are failing badly,” Trump wrote, blending seasonal greetings with campaign-style rhetoric.

The President claimed sweeping policy shifts, saying the US no longer faced “open borders,” weak law enforcement, or social policies he has frequently criticised, reiterating themes that have long resonated with his political base.

Trump also used the message to promote what he said were strong economic indicators, citing a record stock market, rising retirement accounts, low crime levels and robust economic growth. He claimed the US economy recorded a 4.3% GDP growth rate, exceeding expectations, and said inflation had been eliminated.

Attributing economic gains to his trade agenda, Trump said tariffs had generated trillions of dollars in growth and prosperity. He also asserted that the United States was experiencing its strongest national security posture to date.

Emphasising America’s global standing, Trump said the country was once again being respected internationally, describing the current period as a sharp break from past administrations.

The post concluded with a familiar sign-off: “God Bless America!!!”

Trump has a history of using Christmas messages to criticise political opponents. In previous years, including 2024 and during his first term, he similarly used holiday posts to target rivals and media organisations, maintaining a confrontational style even during traditionally unifying occasions.
