UPSC CDS 1 Recruitment 2026: Apply by Dec 30 to Join Indian Army, Navy or Air Force
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the CDS 1, 2026 recruitment notification, opening applications for candidates aspiring to become officers in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The prestigious exam allows eligible applicants to join the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA).
Candidates can apply online through upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in, with the last date for submission set for December 30, 2025. The written exam will be held on April 12, 2026.
Eligibility
Eligibility varies by academy:

IMA & INA: Unmarried men born between Jan 2, 2003 and Jan 1, 2008

OTA: Unmarried men born between Jan 2, 2002 and Jan 1, 2008

AFA: Age 20–24 as of Jan 1, 2027
Educational qualifications differ for each academy, and candidates must review the detailed requirements in the official notification.

Applicants must register on the UPSC portal using a valid email ID and mobile number, fill out the online form, upload required documents and photograph, and pay the application fee (if applicable). The application window closes on December 30, 2025 at 6 pm.
