Urvashi Dholakia joins The 50: When I step in, the game changes

Actor Urvashi Dholakia has officially confirmed her participation in the upcoming reality show The 50, adding star power and heightened anticipation to what is being billed as one of the biggest reality formats on Indian television.

Best known for her iconic portrayal of Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay and for winning Bigg Boss 6, Urvashi announced her entry through a confident Instagram post that quickly grabbed attention.

GAME ON. Every move matters. It’s not about luck, it’s about preparation. ’Coz when I step in, the game changes!!” she wrote, while confirming that The 50 will begin streaming from February 1, 2026.

What is The 50?

The 50 is an Indian adaptation of the French reality series Les Cinquante. The show brings together 50 celebrity contestants inside a grand palace-like setting, where conventional reality-show rules are replaced with unpredictable challenges, strategic gameplay and shifting alliances.

The series will stream on JioHotstar and air on Colors TV, marking one of the largest ensemble reality casts attempted in India.

Strategy over luck

Unlike endurance-based or talent-focused reality shows, The 50 is designed as a psychological and strategic contest. Contestants must navigate alliances, eliminations and mind games over nearly 50 episodes, with only one ultimate winner.

JioHotstar executive Alok Jain earlier described the format as highly ambitious, stating that managing 50 celebrities in a single competitive setup is a first-of-its-kind experiment for Indian audiences.

Big names, bigger expectations

Urvashi Dholakia’s entry has further raised expectations, given her strong reality TV track record and reputation for assertive gameplay. She joins a growing list of confirmed participants including Divya Agarwal, Karan Patel, Faisal Shaikh, Shiny Doshi and Monalisa, among others.

Promos featuring Farah Khan and Ajay Devgn have already teased the show’s scale and mystery, with the recurring question: “Who is the Lion of The 50?”

Premiere details

The 50 is set to premiere on February 1, 2026, promising high-voltage drama, shifting loyalties and intense competition. With Urvashi Dholakia entering the arena, the show’s power dynamics are expected to change dramatically from the very beginning.
