Allu Arjun Named in Chargesheet Over Pushpa 2 Stampede Case of 2024
Actor Allu Arjun has been named among 23 accused in a chargesheet filed by the Hyderabad Police in connection with the fatal stampede that occurred during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule in December 2024.
The 100-page chargesheet, submitted by Chikkadpally Police, relates to the incident at Sandhya Theatre, where a massive crowd surge during the high-profile screening led to the death of a woman and left her minor son critically injured. The stampede occurred on December 4, 2024, at the theatre located in the RTC X Roads area of Hyderabad.
Allu Arjun listed as Accused No. 11
According to the chargesheet, Allu Arjun has been named as Accused No. 11 (A-11). The document also lists members of his personal staff and security team, along with individuals associated with the film’s production and event management, among those accused.
Investigators have identified the theatre owners and management as the primary accused, citing serious lapses in planning, crowd regulation and safety arrangements. Security personnel deployed at the venue have also been named for their alleged role in failing to manage the swelling crowd.
Police flag crowd management failures
Police officials stated that the organisers of large public events bear the responsibility of ensuring adequate safety measures. The chargesheet reportedly details how insufficient crowd control, poor coordination and the absence of effective entry and exit management contributed to the chaos that resulted in the deadly stampede.
The case is now expected to move into the next legal phase, with the court set to examine the chargesheet and determine further proceedings against those named in the incident.
