The Paradise Gets Bengaluru Court Injunction Ahead of Release

A Bengaluru court has granted interim relief to the makers of Nani-starrer The Paradise by restricting the circulation of specifically identified online content alleged to be false and defamatory. The order was passed on September 19, days before the film’s scheduled worldwide theatrical release on September 24.

The case was filed by Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Cinemas LLP, which argued that posts, comments and URLs containing allegedly defamatory material began circulating after the film’s teaser was released on August 6. The producer told the court that the content could affect the film’s commercial prospects and cause financial and reputational losses ahead of its release.

After examining the submissions, the court found a prima facie case and concluded that unrestricted circulation of the identified material could cause economic and reputational harm. The defendants have been restrained from hosting, publishing, transmitting, reproducing or making available the specific content listed in the case.

The injunction does not amount to a blanket ban on discussion of The Paradise. Genuine reviews and bona fide criticism remain outside the scope of the order, which is limited to the URLs and material specifically identified by the producer.

The development follows a similar Bengaluru court order involving Yash-starrer Toxic, which received interim protection against allegedly defamatory content ahead of its release.

The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela and starring Nani, is scheduled to release worldwide on September 24, with the matter listed for its next hearing on October 28, 2026.
