The Hindi film industry has witnessed a historic milestone as Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, has officially become the highest-grossing Hindi film in Indian box office history. Led by Ranveer Singh, the spy-action thriller has collected an unprecedented Rs 831.40 crore nett in India by the end of its 33rd day in theatres, surpassing all previous records.
The film continued its remarkable run even in its fifth week, adding Rs 5.70 crore nett on Day 33 alone. While daily earnings have naturally tapered after a month-long theatrical run, Dhurandhar has shown exceptional holding power, outperforming new releases and sustaining audience interest across multiplexes and single screens alike. Trade analysts attribute this consistency to strong word-of-mouth, repeat viewership, and the film’s large-scale cinematic appeal.
Dhurandhar’s domestic box office performance has been robust across all weeks. The film opened with an impressive Rs 218 crore nett in its first week, followed by an even stronger second week collection of Rs 261.50 crore. In its third week, the film added Rs 189.30 crore, while week four contributed Rs 115.70 crore. Despite entering its fifth week, the film continued to draw crowds, collecting Rs 35.80 crore over the weekend and maintaining daily earnings above Rs 5 crore.
This sustained momentum has propelled Dhurandhar to the top of the Hindi box office rankings, making it not only the highest-grossing Hindi film domestically but also one of the most successful Indian films of all time. At the time of reporting, it ranks as the fifth highest-grossing Indian film overall.
The film’s success is not limited to India. Globally, Dhurandhar has grossed Rs 1,222 crore worldwide, a remarkable feat considering it has not been released in the Middle East — a traditionally strong overseas market for Indian cinema. A significant portion of its international revenue has come from North America, where the film has delivered a historic performance.
With overseas earnings touching $31.5 million in the United States and Canada, Dhurandhar has become only the second Indian film to cross the $20 million mark in these territories. In doing so, it has surpassed the North American collections of major blockbusters such as RRR, Jawan and Kalki 2898 AD, and is now closing in on the long-standing record held by Baahubali 2.
In Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh plays Hamza, an Indian intelligence operative who infiltrates terror and criminal networks operating out of Lyari, Karachi. The film features a strong ensemble cast, including Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan, all of whom play pivotal roles. The film’s expansive scale, high-octane action sequences, and geopolitical narrative have been widely cited as key drivers of its box office dominance.
Buoyed by the overwhelming response, the makers have already announced Dhurandhar Part 2, which is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026. With its record-breaking run, Dhurandhar has firmly established itself as a landmark film in Hindi cinema, redefining box office benchmarks and audience expectations.
