A shocking case from Bihar has come to light where an alleged animal attack turned out to be a planned murder. In Katihar district, police have arrested a 75-year-old man along with his grandsons for allegedly killing his wife and attempting to disguise the crime as a jackal attack.
The incident has raised serious concerns about rising family-related crimes and the misuse of false narratives to mislead authorities.
The case dates back to April 2 in Azamnagar area of Katihar, where 70-year-old Ramni Devi was reported to have been attacked by a wild animal while cutting grass in a maize field. The family initially claimed that a jackal had attacked her, leading to severe injuries.
Following this claim, a complaint was filed with the local police, and the family proceeded with her last rites shortly after her death. At first, the case appeared to be a tragic incident involving a wild animal.
However, the case took a dramatic turn during the investigation. Police, along with a forensic team, examined the crime scene and found crucial evidence that contradicted the initial claim.
A sharp-edged knife was recovered near the spot, clearly indicating that the injuries were not caused by an animal but by a weapon. This discovery shifted the direction of the investigation completely.
The forensic findings confirmed that the elderly woman had been fatally attacked, ruling out the possibility of a wild animal involvement.
Based on the evidence, police took swift action and arrested the victim’s husband along with her grandsons. Authorities suspect that the crime was planned and then covered up by presenting it as an animal attack.
The arrests have shocked the local community, as the crime involves close family members.
Police officials have stated that further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the murder and to uncover all details related to the incident. Authorities are also examining whether there were any prior disputes or underlying reasons that led to the crime.
The case highlights the importance of thorough investigation and forensic analysis in uncovering the truth behind misleading claims.
This incident has sparked discussions about increasing crime rates within families and the attempt to manipulate facts to avoid legal consequences. It also shows how quickly false narratives can spread if not properly investigated.
Law enforcement agencies have assured that strict action will be taken against those involved and justice will be delivered as per the law.
