Gursimran Oberoi IPB journey reflects how career setbacks can eventually lead to an entirely different professional path. After losing his father at a young age and facing repeated difficulties in finding stable employment, Oberoi began looking for opportunities beyond conventional career routes.
His experience eventually led him towards education. In 2015, he founded the Institute of Professional Banking (IPB), a specialised training centre designed to prepare fresh graduates for front-end banking roles that were relatively difficult to access at the time.
Oberoi focused on building IPB around structured systems, quality screening and a student-first approach. Rather than concentrating solely on enrolment numbers, the institute aimed to connect training with the requirements of the banking industry.
According to the information provided, IPB has trained more than 10,000 students over the years, with several alumni progressing into leadership positions in banking.
Oberoi has set an ambitious target of creating 1 lakh bankers by 2030. The organisation currently operates with a team of 72 employees and system-driven processes designed to reduce dependence on the founder.
His entrepreneurial journey highlights the importance of identifying genuine industry gaps, maintaining quality as a business grows and developing systems that allow an organisation to operate efficiently.
