Himanshu Bhau arrested in US is the latest major development in a high-profile investigation involving one of Haryana’s most-wanted gangsters. Bhau, whose real name is Himanshu Ritoliya, has reportedly been taken into custody by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), according to information cited in the report. Indian agencies have been seeking action against him over multiple criminal cases registered in Delhi and Haryana.
Bhau hails from Ritoli village in Haryana’s Rohtak district. Investigators allege that he built a criminal network operating across Delhi-NCR, Haryana and Punjab while remaining outside India.
Who Is Himanshu Bhau?
Born in 2002, Bhau is among the younger figures associated with Haryana’s organised crime networks. According to police accounts, he allegedly entered criminal activities as a teenager and escaped from a juvenile correctional facility in 2020 along with other inmates.
He has been linked by investigators to cases involving murder, attempted murder, extortion, illegal weapons and criminal conspiracy. Authorities have also alleged that he coordinated activities through associates based in India while operating from abroad.
Bhau has reportedly been associated with the Neeraj Bawana gang and linked to a violent rivalry involving the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar network.
Alleged Links to High-Profile Shootings
Investigators have linked Bhau and alleged members of his gang to several high-profile incidents, including a killing at a Burger King outlet in Delhi and firing outside YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s residence.
Police have also investigated alleged gang members in connection with targeted attacks and extortion threats against businesspersons. In September 2026, Delhi Police reportedly arrested two alleged shooters after an encounter and detained a juvenile accomplice in a separate investigation into a property dealer’s killing in outer Delhi.
These allegations remain subject to the relevant legal proceedings.
Interpol Red Notice and Possible Extradition
Interpol issued a Red Notice against Bhau in August 2023 following a request from Indian law enforcement agencies. Police had said he was wanted in 18 cases involving murder, attempted murder, extortion, criminal intimidation and forgery.
A Red Notice seeks the location and provisional arrest of a wanted person; it is not an international arrest warrant. If the reported US arrest is confirmed, Bhau’s transfer to India would depend on applicable legal and extradition procedures.
