A video from the event shows Rasheed sharing the stage with Khalid Masood Sandhu, identified as a senior LeT commander and president of the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML), and Qari Muhammad Yaqoob Sheikh, a member of the group's central advisory committee.

Sheikh Rasheed praises Hafiz Saeed at public gathering

During his address, Sheikh Rasheed publicly expressed support for Hafiz Saeed, stating that he remained loyal to the LeT founder.

He also claimed that while visiting the United States, Hafiz Saeed's phone number appeared on his mobile phone, alleging that the incident led to his removal from the country.

The remarks have drawn attention due to Hafiz Saeed's designation as a globally sanctioned terrorist and the long-standing allegations linking him to multiple terror activities.

At the event, Sheikh Rasheed also made provocative statements targeting India, warning of consequences if India acted against Pakistan.

He further declared his support for both Pakistan and Hafiz Saeed during his speech.

Who is Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed?

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed served as Pakistan's Interior Minister between 2020 and 2022 during the government led by former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He is also the founder and chief of the Awami Muslim League and has remained a prominent political figure in Pakistan for decades.
