Shubman Gill Hits 6, 4, 6 Against Abhishek Sharma as Amritsar Soormas Win Thriller

Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma faced each other in an exciting clash in the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League as Fazilka Falcons took on Amritsar Soormas at the I.S. Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

The two Punjab teammates, who have shared dressing rooms and also opened together for India, found themselves on opposite sides in a match that produced an entertaining individual battle.

Gill emerged as the highest scorer of the match with a brilliant 67 off 35 balls. His innings included eight fours and three sixes as he led Fazilka Falcons to a competitive total of 191/6.

One of the biggest highlights of Gill's innings came when he took on Abhishek Sharma during the 10th over. Gill attacked the left-arm spinner immediately, smashing a six straight down the ground off the first delivery.

He followed it with a boundary through deep mid-wicket before launching another six later in the over, producing an impressive 6, 4, 6 sequence.

However, Abhishek Sharma had the final response in the same over. Gill attempted another big shot off the final delivery but found Naman Dhir in the field, ending his innings after an entertaining knock of 67.

Pranshu Pratap contributed 40 runs for Fazilka Falcons, while Sanvir Singh added a quick 40 off 21 balls to help the team post a challenging target of 192.

Abhishek Sharma then made his presence felt with the bat during Amritsar Soormas' chase.

Opening the innings alongside Sahaj Dhawan, Abhishek provided an explosive start as the opening pair added 79 runs for the first wicket.

The Indian batter smashed 49 runs from just 15 balls, hitting six fours and four sixes at a strike rate of more than 300.

Although Abhishek fell one run short of a half-century, his aggressive innings gave Amritsar the momentum needed to chase down the target.

Fazilka Falcons fought back after his dismissal and reduced Amritsar Soormas to 152/5. However, Rahul Kumar held his nerve and remained unbeaten on 53 off 35 balls.

Rahul guided Amritsar Soormas to victory by four wickets with four balls remaining.

While Shubman Gill's 67 was the highest score of the match, Abhishek Sharma's explosive 49 proved equally important in setting up the successful chase.

The victory kept Amritsar Soormas' semi-final hopes alive in the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League and added another memorable chapter to the friendly on-field rivalry between Gill and Abhishek.
