The UGC NET June 2026 re-examination begins on September 9, with candidates appearing for the English and Commerce papers. The Sociology re-exam is scheduled to be conducted on September 10.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) ordered the re-examination for these three subjects after an expert committee identified factual, typographical, translation and language-related errors in the affected question papers. The panel also found that several questions had been repeated from previously administered examinations.
Candidates appearing for the UGC NET June 2026 re-exam have been advised to carefully check their admit cards and reach their examination centres well before the scheduled reporting time.

The Commerce paper will be conducted on September 9 in the afternoon shift from 3 pm to 6 pm.
The Sociology paper is scheduled for September 10 from 9 am to 12 noon.

UGC NET 2026 Reporting Time
According to NTA examination guidelines, candidates should generally report to the examination centre around two hours before the commencement of the test to complete registration, frisking and other required formalities.
The registration desk is expected to close 30 minutes before the examination begins.
Candidates appearing for the morning shift should therefore plan to reach the examination centre by around 7 am. Those appearing for the afternoon Commerce examination should aim to reach by around 1 pm.
However, candidates must follow the exact reporting time mentioned on their admit card.
UGC NET Exam Day Checklist
Before leaving for the examination centre, candidates should ensure they carry all required documents.
These may include a printed copy of the UGC NET admit card, a valid original photo identity proof and passport-size photographs, wherever required under the examination instructions.
Candidates eligible under the PwD or PwBD category should also carry the required certificate if applicable.
Any additional documents mentioned specifically on the admit card or examination instructions should also be carried.
Candidates are advised to check their examination date, shift, reporting time and centre address before starting their journey.
Items Not Allowed at UGC NET Exam Centres
Candidates should avoid carrying mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices and other electronic gadgets to the examination centre.
They should carefully follow the instructions mentioned on the UGC NET admit card and cooperate with examination-centre staff during frisking, registration and identity verification.
Since this is a re-examination for selected subjects, candidates should also verify that the question paper displayed on their allotted computer matches their chosen subject. Any discrepancy should immediately be reported to the invigilator.
Why Is the UGC NET June 2026 Re-Exam Being Conducted?
The re-test was ordered after an expert committee identified multiple issues in the question papers for English, Commerce and Sociology. These included factual mistakes, typographical errors, translation problems, language-related issues and repetition of questions that had appeared in earlier examinations.
The UGC NET June 2026 re-examination for affected candidates will be conducted without charging any additional examination fee.
The remaining 84 subjects from the June 2026 examination cycle are not affected by the re-test.
